My Approach

As a counsellor, my goal is to make you feel safe, heard, and seen. I will treat you and your story with care. Mostly, I just want you to be yourself.

During our sessions, have a snack, a cup of tea, or an iced coffee. Curl up under a blanket or play with a fidget toy. Read me a lyric that perfectly describes how you feel or show me a TikTok that made you feel seen. Show me the text message that made you angry. Tell me what you’re proud of and what keeps you up at night. Don’t worry about swearing or dropping F-bombs. I’m here for the laughs, the tears, the small victories, and the big wins.

I don’t see my clients as a set of symptoms, a diagnosis, or a problem to fix. I see you as a complex and whole person who’s shaped by your relationships, experiences, and the challenges you’ve overcome. In my therapy space, you’ll never be seen as deficient or having something wrong with you.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

My approach is tailored to your needs. I work from a framework that is anti-diet, size-inclusive, gender-affirmative, and trauma-informed. I keep things simple and approachable; you won’t hear me using too many technical terms or theoretical therapy speak. I won’t give you worksheets or homework if that’s not what you’re looking for. You know yourself best, and our sessions, our goals, and our methods are guided by you.

I have been trained in the following approaches, and I draw a little bit from each of them during my sessions:

  • Narrative Therapy (NT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

If this sounds like a good fit for you, I’d love to hear from you.
